A visa is an official document that allows someone or the bearer to legally travel to a foreign country and stay there for a specific period of time. In general, visas may be issued at the embassy located in your country of residence or at the border. The visa is usually stamped or glued into your passport or may be issued electronically. There are different types of visas which gives the bearer different rights in the host country. For example, student visa allows you to study and work part time in the host country whiles a tourist visa gives you the right to visit the host country for a short period of time without studying or working. Many countries require everyone to obtain a visa before entering into the country and some countries may have visa policy or reciprocal agreement with your home country which waves visa requirement. Is advisable to check which countries you can travel free and which ones require a visa. This statement applies to everyone. It doesn’t matter whether you hold US or European passport, you will still need a visa to travel to other part of the world. It is very advisable to research visa requirements before traveling to avoid issues with the boarder control officers and airline companies. If you do not hold the right documentations you will be refuse entry to board the plane or to enter into the country.
